Home Tutoring
Home Tutoring
Safe, personalised 1:1 tuition delivered in the comfort of your own home — the first step on the path back to a classroom setting.
Starting Where Learners Feel Safe
For many learners, home is the only place they feel safe enough to learn. Anxiety, SEND, SEMH challenges, medical needs, or a difficult experience at school can make any classroom feel like the wrong starting point. Our home tutoring service meets learners exactly where they are, removing the pressure of an unfamiliar setting so they can begin rebuilding trust in education on their own terms.
Home tutoring is well-suited for learners preparing for SATs, 11+, GCSEs, A-Levels, or university-level studies, as well as those who require additional support due to SEND, SEMH challenges, medical needs, or anxiety in school settings. Every session is one-to-one, tailored, and built around the individual, not a one-size-fits-all lesson plan.
Building Engagement First
Before progress on the curriculum can happen, a learner needs to want to be there. Our tutors focus first on engagement, building rapport, restoring routine, and creating small, consistent wins that rebuild a learner’s confidence in themselves and in education. As trust grows and attendance stabilises, sessions are gradually shaped to build exactly the skills and resilience needed for whatever comes next.
A Planned Route to an Away-From-Home Setting
For most learners, home tutoring isn’t the destination, it’s the foundation. Once a learner is engaged, attending consistently, and ready for more, we work with families, schools, and commissioning bodies to plan a considered move to a setting away from home: a community venue, a small group, or ultimately back into mainstream school. This progression is built into the plan from day one, reviewed regularly, and paced entirely around the learner — never rushed, and never forced.
Who Home Tutoring Is For
Home tutoring suits a wide range of learners, including those who:
- Want focused, distraction-free exam preparation
- Prefer a familiar and comfortable learning environment
- Need a quieter or more predictable space to concentrate and re-engage
- Are unable to attend school due to medical or additional needs
- Benefit from relational, trauma-informed support
- Are working toward a confident, well-paced move into an away-from-home setting
Safety First
Before any home tuition begins, we carry out a full home visit and risk assessment to make sure the environment is safe and appropriate for both the learner and the tutor. All of our tutors are fully vetted, DBS-checked, and experienced in safeguarding best practice. Sessions are tracked and reported on, giving parents, schools, or commissioning bodies clear visibility of attendance, engagement, and progress toward the next step.
How It Works
We start by understanding the learner’s goals, strengths, and preferred way of working, then match them with a tutor who has the right subject expertise and the right approach. Sessions are:
- One-to-one and fully personalised
- Flexible on frequency and timing
- Delivered by a subject-specialist or SEND-experienced tutor
- Focused on engagement and confidence-building alongside academic progress
- Reviewed regularly, with a clear view of readiness for a setting away from home
- Supported by regular progress updates
Whether the goal is to build confidence, catch up on missed learning, push for top grades, or take the next step toward a classroom setting, our tutors build the trust needed to get there.
